Optio Solutions Fundraiser for ACA Intl Edu Foundation

Petaluma, California (May 8, 2018) — Employees from Optio Solutions, a national debt collection agency, contributed to the 2018 Collectors Challenge by participating in dress down days for the entire month of April. Staff members in two Optio offices (Petaluma, Calif. and Fargo, N.D.) were joined by employees from affiliates CrossCheck (Petaluma and Irving, Texas) and Constant Processing (Petaluma) to amass a total of $1,935 in donations. Employees also took part in events related to Collectors Challenge: Strawberry Shortcake Social in Petaluma, a hosted lunch in Irving and a bake sale in Fargo.

Founded in 1995, the ACA International Education Foundation is a philanthropic program of ACA International. Every April, credit and collections professionals support the ACA International Education Foundation’s scholarship program using a optio solutionsvariety of fundraisers efforts such as bake sales, car washes, contests, dress-down days, raffles and walk/run/bike-a-thons.

“Collectors Challenge is unique among the various fundraising activities that our employees contribute to each year,” said President and CEO Chris Schumacher of Optio Solutions. “Most of the other campaigns assist in disaster relief efforts, feeding the hungry or finding cures for illnesses, but the ACA Educational Foundation targets scholarship programs and the positive impact of the credit and collections industry on the US economy.”

About the ACA Education Foundation

Money raised through Collectors Challenge allows the ACA International Education Foundation to expand its efforts in financial education and instills a more positive public image of the industry. The foundation has two primary education initiatives:

  • ACA International Loomer Mortenson Education Scholarship Program — a scholarship advancing the higher education of people connected to the credit and collection industry.
  • Foundation Fellow Award — presented each year to recognize the individual or company that made the most significant contribution in support of the foundation and its goals.

In other community service, Optio Solutions employees take an active role in holiday food drives that aggregate turkeys and fill barrels of food for the Committee on the Shelterless (COTS) and its Thanksgiving Day turkey drive partner, the Redwood Empire Food Bank. The staff also supports the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program, the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, the ALS Ice Bucket challenge (photo below) and more.
