Risk management professionals will “prepare for tomorrow” with specialized sessions, interactive workshops and professional network-building events at the 2017 Annual Risk Management Conference this winter. Hosted by the Risk Management Association (RMA), professionals at all career levels are welcome to attend. The 2017 conference will focus on key issues currently affecting the financial services industry while presenting tools and strategies for a successful future.
The conference is scheduled for November 12 – 14 at the Boston Marriott Copley Place hotel in Boston, Massachusetts. At RMA’s premier event, the not-for-profit professional association offers a platform for risk management professionals to listen to top industry leaders, learn about the latest industry trends and share individual knowledge with peers.
Innovative Sessions
At general sessions, attendees can earn 12 continuing education units (CEUs) toward maintaining Credit Risk Certification or 12 continuing professional education (CPE) hours for NASBA — the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy — credit. Preconference round tables provide three additional CEUs toward certification and the Operational Risk Forum offers an opportunity to earn six CEUs toward certification. The ALLL Workshop: Understanding CECL post-conference event attendees will earn an additional 12 CEUs towards maintaining certification.
Sessions will be presented in panel discussions, lectures, workshops, Q & A segments and interactive sessions. Each session is categorized under three tracks — Credit Risk, ERM/ORM and Community Bank. Suggested sessions for risk management professionals include:
- First Time Attendees Cocktail Reception, November 12 — welcomes new conference-goers with an event overview and drinks.
- Chief Credit Officer Panel, November 13 — three chief credit officers explore the top credit issues of today while highlighting each individual’s concerns. This session highly encourages audience participation.
- Business Community Challenges and Strategies, November 14 — discusses natural disaster preparedness and coping strategies for cyber-attacks.
- Breakfast/Innovation and Luncheon/Innovation sessions on November 13 and 14 — business sessions centered around one timely topic delivered by an RMA industry partner.
