The 2018 NACM Congress & Expo for Credit Managers

The National Association of Credit Managers presents the 122nd edition of the NACM Credit Congress & Expo June 10 – 13 at the Phoenix Convention Center. The annual event offers concurrent educational sessions, certificate examinations and a tradeshow for professionals involved with credit management, finance, technology, collections and more.

NACM was founded in 1896 to promote good laws for sound credit, protect businesses against fraudulent debtors, improve the interchange of credit information, develop better credit practices and methods, and establish a code of ethics. The group’s mission has expanded to education, certification and research for members and affiliated credit associations.

A full day of pre-conference certification will be presented Saturday, June 9 in two focus areas: the Business Credit Principles Certificate and the Financial Statement Analysis 2 Certificate.

credit managersSunday, June 10 features a scholarship golf outing, a repeat of Saturday’s certification courses, and other academic programming for credit managers such as the CCE Exam Review, CBA & CBF Exam Reviews, CBA & CBF Designation Exams, CCE Designation Exam, and an Intro to the NACM Certification Program.

The first official day at the NACM Credit Congress concludes more casually with the First-Time Attendee Welcome Gathering and the Expo Grand Opening and Reception.

The remainder of Monday through Wednesday’s programming consists of general sessions, certification courses, business meetings, concurrent educational sessions, the expo hall and social engagement.

Concurrent Educational Sessions

The 60-plus sessions at the NACM Credit Congress will cover a wide variety of subjects in related business and technical skills, credit management and technology, financial analysis, leadership, global credit concepts and legal updates.

Credit managers and other attendees may customize their experience by selecting sessions of interest to their career paths and current roles. Many sessions are classified by NACM according to subject matter and its level of advancement:

  • Basic — Presents material or topics at an introductory level or covers a topic in a more general manner.
  • Intermediate — Best suited for those with a cursory knowledge of a subject.
  • Advanced — Applicable to those with a working knowledge of the subject, providing a more in-depth exploration of the topic.
  • Overview — Provides a general review of a subject area from a broad perspective or reviews several subjects and may be appropriate for professionals at all levels.
  • Update — Presents a review of new developments and is best suited for those with some knowledge of a subject wishing to remain current.
  • International — Sessions are a part of FCIB’s specially designed international education track.
