Optio Solutions Begins April Fundraiser for Education

Petaluma, Calif. (April 4, 2018) — Optio Solutions, a national debt collection agency, is participating in Collectors Challenge Month for the third consecutive year. Each April, the month-long annual fundraising effort supports educational enrichment for employees and family members in the credit and collections industry through ACA International Education Foundation’s Loomer-Mortenson Scholarship Program.

According to ACA International, the foundation helps accounts receivable management industry employees and their children reach higher education goals. This year, 35 scholarships totaling $50,000 will be awarded.

“Collectors Challenge does an excellent job of supporting higher education while raising awareness about the contribution of credit and collections professionals to the US economy,” said President and CEO Chris Schumacher.

Casual dress-down days for Collectors Challenge Month is the primary fundraising vehicle at Optio Solutions, but plans call for bake sales and raffles awarding prime parking spots.

“Helping to provide a formal education to younger members of the credit and collections community prepares them for the future,” said Client Relations Manager Janet Cipriano. “Furthermore, many of today’s young collectors pursuing degrees will one day advance to management positions within the industry, and our organization sincerely hopes those future executives will support education as well.”

Dozens of staff members from Optio Solutions and its parent company, CrossCheck, contributed to the 2017 Collectors Challenge and celebrated at the midpoint with socials in three offices — Petaluma, California; Fargo, North Dakota; and Irving, Texas — where they enjoyed all-you-can-eat arrangements of fresh strawberries, vanilla cake and whipped cream.

Beyond Collectors Challenge, Optio employees also participate in annual philanthropic programs for the Alzheimer’s Association, American Cancer Society, Annual Food & Funds Drive for the Redwood Empire Food Bank, Salvation Army Angel Tree program and more.
