Petaluma, California (August 16, 2017) — The staff of Optio Solutions, an accounts receivable management firm, contributed $4032 to the American Cancer Society during a two-month fundraising effort. Optio and its affiliates are currently ranked third among 44 corporate teams engaged in the program. Employees from offices in Petaluma, California and Fargo, North Dakota participated in the activities.
Staff members were awarded various degrees of “Dress Down Days” in June and July as a function of their contributions — from simply wearing jeans and casual shirts, to shorts and casual footwear, to shorts and flip-flops for the largest donors. Employees also placed bills and coins in a “Money Jug” near the main lobby.
“Optio Solutions believes in helping the local and national communities with fundraising efforts,” said Optio President and CEO Chris Schumacher. “Our staff members dug deep into their own pockets to help a very worthy cause.”
A handful of employees will be volunteering as registration coordinators during the Petaluma Relay for Life at Casa Crande High School on August 26.
Optio employees take an active role in other community giving such as holiday food drives that aggregate turkeys and fill barrels of food for the Committee on the Shelterless (COTS) and its Thanksgiving Day turkey drive partner, the Redwood Empire Food Bank. The staff also supports the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program, the ACA International Collector’s Challenge and local efforts to support those affected by natural disasters.
