Petaluma, California (August 6, 2018) — Student family members from Optio Solutions and its parent company, CrossCheck, received $1,000 scholarships from the ACA International Education Foundation via its Loomer Mortenson Education Scholarship Program. The foundation awarded 36 high school and college students with a total of $55,000 in assistance for the upcoming school year. Scholarship winners were announced at the 2018 ACA International Convention & Expo and in the article “Tomorrow’s Leaders Win Today.”

Scholarship applicants had to be current employees of a company affiliated with the credit and collection industry or the child of an employee.

“It is always a pleasure to witness the accomplishments of our employees and their families,” said Optio President and CEO Chris Schumacher. “In this instance, the students are the recipients of a fundraising effort that our teams have participated in since 2015. We couldn’t be more proud.”

Founded in 1995, the ACA International Education Foundation is a philanthropic program of ACA International. Every April, credit and collections professionals support its fundraising campaign, Collector’s Challenge, using a variety of fundraisers efforts such as bake sales, car washes, contests, dress-down days, raffles and walk/run/bike-a-thons.

In 2018, Optio staff members in Petaluma, Calif. and Fargo, N.D. were joined by CrossCheck employees in Petaluma and Irving, Texas to amass a total of $1,935 in donations by participating in dress down days for the entire month of April and related events: Strawberry Shortcake Social in Petaluma, hosted lunch in Irving and a bake sale in Fargo. These efforts were recognized in the July 2018 issue of Collector magazine.
